Artist Bio
Just as I did as a young child I will bring home treasures and design process begins. I look to these treasures for inspiration, and try to convey the childlike awe and the beauty I see in them to others. The creation of art begins as a journey into an intuitive and playful part of myself. My sketches of landscapes, trees, flowers, water, light and shadow are minimized into basic shapes. These shapes are the beginning of my jewelry designs. I strive to remain open to the creative process and allow time for the design to develop. Often the sketches sit unused for many weeks until its time to develop them into working drawings. It is the second phase of the process where I look for flowing lines, interesting shapes and colors that appeal to the eye. I believe than I am more than a jewelry designer I am an artist working on a very small scale with precious materials used to create personal works of art. It is the sensitivity to design, composition, and skill in the craft of metalsmithing becomes evident first in the drawing and then in each individual piece of jewelry.
